Race Rules
Family Race
- All runners should follow instructions from the marshals.
- Each team shall consist of 3 members (three generations category) / 2 members (other categories).
- Race time is 20 minutes. Runners will complete the race on a relay basis and achieve the longest distance during the race time.
- Runners are required to wait next to the treadmill or designated area during the race.
- The race is conducted on a relay basis. Runners can decide the number of times they will change runners, as well as the time and distance each teammate will run, but each runner should run at least 200M before swapping with a teammate, except in the case of injury. Each teammate should run for at least 500M.
- Timing for each race will begin with the starting gun and end when the last teammate has finished. Time spent changing runners is included in the total time.
- Every team MUST inform the race marshals of their intent to change runners and receive confirmation from the marshals, before exchanging places with another teammate.
- When the race is finished, race marshal will record the distance made immediately. All mileage after the official finish time will not be calculated, runners can slow down and cool down at their own pace.
- If any malfunction happens to the treadmill during the race, race marshals will repair it immediately or arrange another spare treadmill for team to continue. Race marshal will record the mileage completed on a minute basis. The team can continue the race on the other treadmill and will start at the last minute finished. For example, if the treadmill malfunctioned at 3 minutes 50 seconds, and the distance made is 500M at the 3rd minute. The team will start the 4th minute (500M) again on another treadmill and the 50 seconds made before the malfunction will not be counted in the race record. The extra time involved in the transition to the other treadmill or repairing will not be counted in the race time.
- The MC will update the audience with the various teams’ progress when appropriate. Race results will be announced at the end of the event on the organizer’s Facebook page. The award presentation will be held at around 11:30, winners can stay behind for the award presentation.
- Except for emergencies and for the sake of fairness, runners should not hold the handrails except emergencies.
- Should there be any update on player(s), please notify the Organizer via email [email protected] on or before 10th September 2025 6:00p.m.. The Organizer reserves the right not to accept any update after this date.
- All decisions regarding infringement of rules, allocation of prizes, etc. are at the discretion of the Race Director.
10KM Open
- All runners should follow instructions from the Marshals.
- Each team shall consist of 4 teammates, male and female are all welcomed.
- To encourage ladies joining the race, there is 30 seconds deduction on the overall result of the team for each KM run by female runner. For example, if the female(s) runner run 8.5KM in the race, the overall result of the team will be deducted by 255 seconds.
- Race time is 1 hour. The race will be competed on a relay basis, and participating teams should aim to the fastest to finish 10KM.
- Each team can decide the number of changes of the runner on the treadmill, as well as the time and distance each teammate will run.
- The race will be using the non-electric treadmill (TrueForm Runners). It might take first few seconds to get used to it for the first-time user. Runners can reserve a trail session via race oraniser by sending email to [email protected] on or before 11-29 Aug. Do reserve as soon as possible and the trail sessions are very limited. Please be reminded to clean up the treadmill after use as well.
- The race time will refer to the time on treadmill. Time spent on changing runners is also included in the race time.
- Every team MUST inform the race marshals of their intent to swap the runner on the treadmill, and can only proceed when the team receives confirmation from the Marshals.

For example, if the team completed 5.6 KM when the treadmill malfunctioned, race marshal will record the time of completing 5KM and the team will need to complete the remaining 5KM afterwards. The previously completed 600M will be forfeited.) The team can continue the race when the treadmill is ready, and the extra time involved in the transition to the other treadmill or repairing will not be counted in the race time.
- Except for emergencies or substitution of runners, for the sake of fairness, runners should not hold the handrails.
- For any violation of rules, (e.g. using the handle in non-emergency situation etc.), each team will be panelized with 30 seconds added to total race time. Runners can protest to the Race Director immediately, and Race Director will make the final decision within 30 mins after the race. All protests should be raised within 10 minutes after the end of the race, and no protests will be handled afterwards. All right reserved by the organizer.
